KEEP OUR BRANCH BLOOMING

Each year just as spring flowers begin to appear in response to warmer afternoon temps and sunshine, the Atlanta Branch Nominating Committee springs into action searching for individuals who will come forward and volunteer to serve in elected positions. The committee presents the candidates in the April Newsletter. The election and installation will occur at our May Branch meeting. This year we need to identify individuals to serve in several positions: Interim President, President-Elect, Program-Vice President, and a Secretary.

The job of the Interim President is extremely important at this time of choosing new projects and reshaping the by-laws to take us into the future. This person should be very familiar with the Board decisions and progress from July 1, 2009 to July 1, 2011.

The President-Elect will work closely with the Interim President. She will attend the National Convention of AAUW with all expenses paid in June and then spend her time working in a supportive role with the Interim President until assuming the position of President in July 2012.

The Program Vice President will work with her committee to arrange speakers and resources to meet and inform the membership attending Branch Meetings and events.

The Secretary will provide accurate documentation of Board and Branch Meetings. These records are extremely important to accomplishing the business of the Atlanta Branch and its functions in the community and beyond.

Please come forward and volunteer. Contact the Nominating Committee.

Now is the time to grow and bloom by serving as an elected officer for the Atlanta Branch of AAUW.
