Plan to Attend Two Authors Booksigning

We have two authors scheduled for booksigning on Saturday, October 2, 2010.

12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. – Amanda Gable, author of The Confederate General Rides North.   The novel was a finalist for the Townsend Award and has been selected by the Georgia Center for the Book as one of “25 Books All Georgians Should Read.”  Ms. Gable received the 2010 Georgia Author of the Year Award for First Novel.

2:15 – 4:15 p.m. – Barbara “BB” Rose, author of The Bad Ol’ Boys Book Club.  This author was recommended by Debbie Karvey and Carol Stephen, as they attended a discussion group on that book.  Of interest to AAUW members is that she supports “A Future Not a Past” (AFNP) group that addresses child prostitution in Atlanta.  Many of us remember the 529 bill before the GA GA that did not pass earlier this year.  I know the Atlanta Branch is interested in trying to get involved, as Stephanie Davis spoke to us in January as well as a representative from Living Waters.  Barbara Rose contributes $1 from each book to AFNP.
