Debbie Karvey will be working at the ERA table, and we appreciate her sharing this empowering event with us!
March meeting: Women’s Health
We are honored to have Dr. Benedict Benigno, a well-known and respected gynecologist, as our March 5, 2016, Branch meeting speaker. He will be talking about advances in treatment of gynecological cancer in women, a subject of great interest to our members and friends. A business meeting will precede Dr. Benigno’s presentation.
The meeting will be held at the Hilton Perimeter Suites located at 6120 Peachtree Dunwoody Road NE. We will have a buffet luncheon; cost of the luncheon is $20. If you have not already done so, please respond to your evite ASAP or call Hospitality chair Betty Arden if you have questions.
The hotel is located one block north of the intersection of Ham-mond Drive and Peachtree Dunwoody Rd.- Take Hammond Drive off 400 or 285 Peachtree Dunwoody Exit.
Time for Our Annual Legislative Update
Plan to attend our annual Legislative Update meeting on February 6. At this year’s meeting State Senator Elena Parent, who represents north and central DeKalb County, will be our speaker. Bring your questions about current legislation!
The meeting will be held at Nancy G’s Cafe and Bistro (4920 Roswell Road, Suite 55, Sandy Springs) in the Fountain Oaks Shopping Center. The cost of the buffet luncheon is $25.00

It’s Time for Our Annual Holiday Party!
Mark your calendars for December 6 when we gather at the home of Mary and Darwin Womack (3945 Club Drive, Atlanta, Ga 30319) at 3 pm to welcome the holiday season! There will be lots of goodies, supplied by the Board, and a Silent Auction to benefit Legal Advocacy. So round up some items to contribute to the auction and plan to do some holiday shopping. Recipients of scholarships awarded locally and nationally have been invited to attend. Look forward to seeing your there!

Our October Branch meeting will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at the Hilton Atlanta Perimeter Suites (6120 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, NE, Atlanta) from 11am to 1pm in the Magnolia Room. Attorney Julie Childs will be our featured speaker and provide us with crucial information about planning your estate. There will be a choice of entrees (chicken, fish, or vegetarian) and you must indicate your choice in the evite, which will be mailed soon. Cost of the lunch is $20.00. Bookfair Is Coming Soon!
The 56th Annual AAUW Bookfair begins Monday, September 21 at a new location
North Point Mall 1000 North Point Circle, Alpharetta, GA 30022. Setup begins on Sunday, September 20, Preview Night is September 21, and the sale will conclude on Sunday, September 28. As always, we need your participation to ensure the success of this endeavor which allows us to give local scholarships to non-traditional women to complete their undergraduate education and to other Branch projects.
